COMMUNITY INVESTMENT INITIATIVE
CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Union of Safety and Justice Employees would like to partner with a local community organization in your area, to fund a project that improves public safety.

Whether it be to help at-risk populations with access to recreational activities or to increase worker solidarity or to improve community supports, we are asking for your ideas!

The mission and mandate of the Community Investment Initiative can be found here

Calling all ideas and proposals!

There are many ways local projects can benefit our community. Is there an initiative, campaign or community program that you would like to see in your area?

The mandate of the Community Investment Initiative lists six areas that USJE considers a priority for funding. If your proposal addresses one of these areas, then your proposal would qualify for consideration.

To apply, please liaise with a local community organization and fill out this application form.

Please submit your application form no later than July 5, 2024.

Why are we doing this?

Because keeping each other safe is a priority of ours and of our membership, not just in our work, but in our day-to-day lives. Our collective wellbeing, that’s the essence of community.

Our union will always consider you, our members, as the top priority for the organization – that will never change. The Community Investment Initiative goes a step beyond that. Beyond taking care of you and your rights at work, we want to help the communities you live in to remain strong and stay safe.

So bring your ideas and enthusiasm to the table, and help make a difference where you live!
